What's the best way to break up with someone that you still care about?

I'm stumped. I'm really done being anything but friends with my current boyfriend, and I need some help to break the news to him. We've been talking about it for a while- but I'm not sure he understands that i'm really romantically burnt out. How can I break it to him by still being kind?

There is no way , it won't hurt him if he did not consider breaking up with you yet. but you can just tell him directly that you want to be just friend and everyone take a way, and explain what you just said. and tell him you really liked him but now you want it to be friendship only.
Focus on the friends aspect. Let him go through his grief process if he needs to do that; you know, Shock, Denial, Anger, Depression, Acceptance? Just keep reminding him that you have indeed talked about this and that you decided this was the best thing for you both.
I did it, by saying this isnt the right time, and I dont want us to get to the point of hating each other, or never getting back together. just put it on hold, sort your lives out. try again. I did that when I was 19, got back together at 22 married at 23.
explain it to him the same way you explained it to us.





If the relationship is gone sour, get it over with as quickly and politely as possible. The longer you put it off, the more it will hurt in the long run.
Flat out? There is no way to do it without hurting him unless he wants to stop dating too. If he still wants to date you and you end it, you could possibly lose a boyfriend and a friend.
Just tell him its not working for you anymore, you can't help your feelings and if they are not there they are not there. Just be honest with him and he will thank you for it later.
Invite him to meet you someplace public (neutral) , like a restaurant and just give it too him plain.

Just stit him down when you two are the only ones around and just tell him how you feel.
