How do you break up with someone? HELP! ?

Okay, I have this friend and she really wants to break up with her boyfriend, but she's not too sure how. She wants to break up with him because she likes someone else and he ignores her when he sees her when he's with his friends and he never calls her or does anything with her. It doesn't sound like it will be too hard to break up with him if he spends most of the time ignoring her, not calling her and not doing anything with her. It doesn't even sound as though he considers himself to be her boyfriend.


If she thinks that he is her boyfriend, and feels the need to break up with him, she can say whatever she likes. She can be polite and say something like, ';It's been nice dating you, but I would just like to be friends from now on. Bye.'; She could say what she probably really wants to say, and say something like, ';You're an a**hole, and you've made no effort to be a decent boyfriend whatsoever. It's over. Bye.';, or she could say anything in between those two possibilities.


Just one tip, she shouldn't say that she's breaking up because she wants to date someone else. That will almost guarantee that the current so-called boyfriend will want to date her again.

Just let them have a moment alone together (the hallway at school is probably not the best place. Maybe go out on one last date for pizza or something...). Just let her tell him, don't beat around the bush. She could say ';I don't think we should see each other anymore'; or ';I think we should see other people';. I recommend not hooking up with the boy she likes TOO soon after, or her ';ex'; will get suspicious. Oh, and I know one thing I can't stand is phone/ IM/ text message breakups. Be polite, and tell them in person!
