How do you usually break up with someone?

Whenever you want to break up with someone that you are dating,do you just stop answering and became distance?


Do you try to drop hints?


do you come out and just tell them the truth?

I talk about it with him. Usually, I've just called to cancel our plan for the next day, and I'll add something like, ';And, I'm sorry, but I don't think I want to see you anymore at all.'; Or, ';I';m really sorry, but I think I'd like to take a break from seeing you for a while.';


BUT, there have been a few who I've dated for just a few weeks, and I just quit calling them. I don't like to do it that way. I know it 's torturous and they have to guess, but I've done it when he's the sort who will beg and plead for me to tell him what's wrong, and what I don't like about him. He won't just accept that he's not what I'm looking for.





Telling them what you don't like about them (esp. when there are a LOT of things you don't like) never benefits anyone. And I've found it often makes them defensive and argumentative. Obsessive types are more likely to punish you if you reject them openly.





Unfortunately, I think a lot of people drop hints, say they're busy, quit returning calls, etc....all under the pretense of ';not wanting to hurt him/her'; . That's a lie, though, because it hurts more to drag it out and make the person guess, than to get it over with. I believe people avoid ending it in an honest, direct manner because either:


A. they're scared of the other person, or


B. they're losing interest but deep down inside they want to keep the other person around until they're sure they've got someone better. That way, they don't have to ever be alone themselves. It's the greatest of all insecurities; the person who always has someone else waiting in the wings because they can't be alone for one day.How do you usually break up with someone?
To be fair about it just say you don't really feel the way you felt before about them and be truthful. Naturally it is painful but then why ride along for someone you are not happy with any longer. Don't drop hints just get it off your shoulder. Obviously something was working up to that moment of truth. You both could see it coming beforehand. It gives a complete closure. Then you know you are free to search for another love partnership.
Come out and tell them the truth, the other ways are for cowards.
Um.... tell them the truth!
